SOLID TIMBER

GENERAL CARE

  • Suitable for indoor use only.
  • Do not place in direct sunlight, heavily airconditioned areas or places with excessive heat/steam as these will leave marks and damage the polyurethane.
  • Promptly clean the surface if exposed to hand sanitizer or any other liquids with high alcohol percentages (%)
  • Always consider place mats as timber is a natural material and can be easily scratched by cutlery, crockery, and glassware.
  • Avoid excessive application of water.

CLEANING

  • Regularly dust surface with a damp cloth and dry with a dry cloth.
  • Only use non-abrasive, solvent free and PH neutral cleaning products.
  • Apply commercial grade timber oil or polish to timber furniture with a lint free cloth to clean surfaces as required.
  • Do not use scouring pads, powder, or silicone-based furniture polishes.
  • Do not use any detergents, glass cleaner, harsh chemicals, or any solvent or ammonia-based cleaners.

VENEER & LAMINATES

GENERAL CARE

  • Suitable for indoor use only.
  • Avoid excessive applications of water as it can cause the edges to swell over time.
  • Protect from direct sunlight.
  • Do not place excessively hot or cold objects directly onto the surface.

 CLEANING

  • Do not use any chemical-based cleaners.
  • Regularly dust surface with a damp cloth.
  • Do not use scouring pads, powder, concentrated detergents, or silicone-based furniture polishes.

POLYPROPYLENE & PLASTIC

 CLEANING

  • Wash with a soft cloth soaked in mild detergent and warm water.
  • Do not use abrasive cleaners, for example Jiffy.

ALUMINIUM

GENERAL CARE

  • Cast aluminium components in furniture will oxidize near salt water: the performance of the item is unaffected, simply clean with soapy water and polish with aluminium polish.

 CLEANING

  • Do not use any chemical-based cleaners.
  • Regularly dust surface with a damp cloth.
  • Do not use scouring pads, powder, concentrated detergents, or silicone-based furniture polishes.

POWDER-COATED METALS

 GENERAL CARE

  • Chipping and breaking of the clear coating does not cause the frame to rust but is unsightly.
  • Do not use abrasive pads, brushes, or cleaners.

CLEANING

  • Wash with a soft cloth with warm soapy water and dry with a lint free cloth.

STAINLESS STEEL

 GENERAL CARE

  • These bases lightly scratch with normal use. The scratches are not unpleasant and over time create a nice patina on the surface.

CLEANING

  • Clean with a stainless-steel cleaning agent.
  • Do not use an abrasive cleaning material like steel wool, as it will scratch the surface.

CHROME

GENERAL CARE

  • Do not place outside.
  • Do not use in coastal areas.

 CLEANING

  • Wipe down frame if wet.
  • Finish can be cleaned by using a light oil with 0000 grade steel wool with a non-abrasive cleaner.
  • You can use metal polish.

VINYL

 GENERAL CARE

  • Protect from direct sunlight and keep at a minimum of 30cm away from direct heat sources.  Routinely (weekly) vacuum with a soft brush attachment to remove airborne particles and wipe with a damp sponge or cloth.
  • We recommend the use of a proprietary branded leather cleaner.

CLEANING

  • Do not use abrasive powder, detergent based or paste cleaners.
  • Do not wet excessively.
  • A soft bristle brush may be used to remove ingrained soil.
  • Avoid scratching by gentle brushing.
  • Wipe with a clean cloth dampened with water to remove residues.

WARWICK FABRICS

 SPOT CLEANING

Treat spills and stains as soon as possible. Test on hidden area to ensure fabric and colour are not removed. Gently scrape any soil or mop any liquid from the surface of the fabric. Use of soap or detergent with water should be approached with caution since overzealous rinsing to remove soap residue may result in over-wetting, water marking and possible wetting of substructure (this may create other stains or damage products).

  1. For non-oil-based stains Use warm water and non-toilet soaps which do not contain optical brighteners (consider Velvet soap, Lux Flakes, Softly). Mix a small amount of soap and warm water solution and apply to the stain, rubbing gently. Blot dry with a clean towel. Apply cool water (preferably filtered or distilled water) and blot dry again. Then with a hair dryer, working out from the centre of the stain, dry quickly to prevent rings forming. It is generally preferable to clean whole panels of fabric in this way rather than trying to spot clean specific areas.
  2. For oil-based stains Following the same basic guidelines as above, apply a proprietary brand solvent based cleaner and try to clean generally in panels rather than spot cleaning specific areas. A helpful industry ‘secret’ for spot removal of oil-based biro marks is by the application of conventional hair spray. To further enhance spot cleaning results, Warwick have introduced the Halo Fabric Care Kit which includes Halo spot cleaner for most household stains, Halo fabric deodoriser to help neutralise pet and general odours and Halo fabric protector to restore liquid repellence on fabric sections that have been spot cleaned.

PROFESSIONAL CLEANING Warwick Fabrics recommend that water based ‘Fluro chemical’ type fabric protectors (such as DuPont Teflon® and 3M Scotchgard®) be applied by licensed applicators only. Check your care label first to see if a mill-applied protection was incorporated during fabric manufacture. Fabric protectors do not eliminate the need for vacuuming, routine cleaning or proper care. They will, however, make spot cleaning and vacuuming quicker, easier and more efficient between professional cleans and keep your fabric looking cleaner longer, as well as extending its life. Professionals applying fabric protectors must always pre-test to qualify fabric suitability
